Dear Community Supporter:

The St. Mary’s County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is hosting its 3rd Annual Back to School Fair at  Lexington Park Elementary School, 46763 S Shangri-La Dr, Lexington Park, MD 20653 on August 10, 2019 from 12:00-3:00.  This community building event brings together students, families, community agencies, schools and local service providers to help ensure that students have a sound and healthy start to the school year. Many resources necessary to assure health and success will be provided. School supplies will be given away while they last.

We are seeking your financial support to help us provide school supplies, light refreshments, and materials for the event. If you would like to donate cash, please   let us know the number of book bags with supplies you or your organization would like to purchase.   Ten dollars will purchase one book bag with supplies.   For example:
$10.00 – 1 book bag with supplies
$50.00 – 5 book bags with supplies
$100.00- 10.00 book bags with supplies

You may make your donation by selecting                       or checks can be mailed to the St. Mary’s County NAACP at  P.O. Box 189 Lexington Park, MD 20653 and  should be made payable to the St. Mary’s County Branch NAACP#7025 by July 27, 2019.
(NAACP Branches are 501c4 non-profits and cash donations are not tax deductible.)

If you would like to donate book bags and/or supplies, we are asking for notebooks, paper, pencils, pens, crayons, folders and book bags for all ages.  In particular, Head Start and the Judy Center (ages 3-4) need book bags.  Community members and representatives from agencies or organizations can bring donated   items to  Lexington Park Elem on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. and on Saturday August 10, 2019  starting at 9:00 a.m.
